A Bunch of STUFF!!

Meemaw and Grandpa came for a very short visit, and of course Grandpa was put to work. [I wonder why grandpa comes to Hutto, because he does nothing but manual labor]. Anyway, the shed finally got painted!!! (only 2 years in the waiting) It looks great, and the boys got to help too. And the boys loved the visit from the grandparents too. In fact, Truett mentioned when they had left, "Meemaw forgot her monster truck." I explained that I was pretty sure that was meant for Owen and Truett, and wasn't just a toy that Meemaw carried around in her purse.

Some pictures taken by Owen.

Some Lego creations by Owen. (he was also the photographer).
I'm pretty sure this lego car does not guzzle much gas.
Just Truett being goofy!
Truett's favorite song is "We will Rock You" by Queen. Does this picture speak a thousand words or what?? Rock on my little soul man!

Owen and I spent a little time learning to sew. He likes to sew with needle and thread better than the machine. Not that Owen would admit it-- but I think the fast machine was a little scary. However- we made some pillows for the lounge chairs by the pool, and they came out great.

Lakehouse Birthday Party for Mazzy

Our good friend Mazzy Zimmerman turned 7 and celebrated her birthday at her lakehouse in Sandy Harbor. It is the perfect place for kids to explore and get wet. Here are a few pictures of the big event--there was a pinata, an egg hunt, and an eat the donut game. The water was still pretty cold, but that did not stop all the kids from swimming. Actually, there was a pretty good current flowing and they were able to float down stream.

Margaret and baby Camdyn swinging with Mazzy and Truett.
Truett was very sweet with the baby and Margaret was nice enough
to let him give her a bottle to drink.

Owen had great form swinging at the Liberace pink and gold pinata.

Truett gave it a good whack!

Here are the boys: 6, 5, 4 years old, waiting for their turn at the pinata.

The bluebonnets are so pretty this time of year, and the boys agreed to let me take their picture in the flowers. This was actually on our way home, so they were very dirty and tired, but nevertheless agreeable to snapshot.

Easter Fun

Truett is posing with the Easter Dog (instead of the Easter Bunny).
The boys had fun running around and picking up candy. As you can see, there was not much to "hunt" since all the candy was spread out in the open. And Owen asked me if I filled up his basket because he was not so sure that the Easter Bunny was real. My advice was to believe it if you want to--because I believe in the Easter Bunny! ;-)

Basket head with an illegally picked bluebonnet-- OOPS!

Waiting patiently for the "hunt" to begin.

We walked down to Fritz Park for the kids to do a little Easter Egg hunting. Although, there really is few eggs, and just a bunch of wrapped candy for the kids to pick up--most of which I end up taking to work. I don't think they should eat 100 marshmallow eggs all in one day.
