Few more party pictures
Owen's 7th Birthday Party
We celebrated Owen's 7th birthday on Friday night with swimming and pizza. It was madness, with 12 kids swimming at the same time, there was practically a tsunami of waves. All in all, it turned out great, and sweet Owen even told me thanks for the "great party". There was water balloons-- which I won't ever do again-- it took an hour to fill up 300 balloons and they were all done in less than 2 minutes. There was a pinata, and I am glad I bought the plastic bat-- because with these strong boys, it would have been demolished on the first swing with anything wooden whacking at it.
Seussical the Musical
The first grade class put on a musical called "Seussical the Muscial". Owen was Dr. Seuss--the actual author of all the books. He did such a good job. He even had to say "welcome" in spanish at the beginning of the show. And afterward, we all went for ice cream at McDonalds because friends JZ, Mazzy, Artie, and Gwen came to watch the show. It was a great night.
Both of them did really good and sat and watched the whole show.

Owen turned 7 (& Dr. Seuss practice)
Owen has to perform as Dr. Seuss in Seussical the Muscial for the school before his evening performance tonight. So here he is as Dr. Seuss on his way to school. For just turning 7, he sure has a lot of gray hair.
It has been a busy time for Owen. The first grade at his elementary is putting on Seussical the Musical and Owen is acting as Dr. Seuss. Here is a video of him singing some of the songs from the play.

Jackson takes his 1st Dip in the Pool
Jackson is turning 1 in June, and Kayla is having a pool party for him at our house, so she wanted him to come take a "dip" before then. Here are some pictures of the little dude-- who is walking everywhere by the way!
Jackson loved the water. It was a little chilly, and the extra wind that day didn't help keep him warm, but he never cried or seemed upset by being in the pool.
And he called everything a puppy-- the dog, the cat, Owen-- everything was "puppy".
Truett and We Will Rock You
Here is Truett singing along with his head phones on to We Will Rock You.
I have enjoyed getting to spend time with just Truett while Owen has been at school. Truett is chattering up a storm, and having entire conversations with me. We were on our way to his school today, and he asked, "How did Santa know I like pink bubble gum?" And before I could answer him, he asked, "Is Santa really little?" So I asked-- why?--and Truett said, "Because he works with all those little elves, he must be little too." My only answer was that it all works by magic.
Then of course Owen is headed in another direction. He informed me that his penis tells him what to do (what a man already, huh?). What he went on to say was-- that when he swings really high on the swing, his penis "tingles" so he knows to stop swinging so high. My guess is... this is just the begining!
There are so many funny things they say, I hope I can remember some of them to perhaps use to embarass them when they are teenagers! ;-)
Truett Chasing Butterflies
There have been a million butterflies around our house this year. I'm not sure if it is from all the rain we had earlier this year, but there definitely seems to be more of them than normal. Anyway, Truett spent some time trying to catch one. When he finally did-- he put it in a jar for just a few minutes-- before releasing it back into "the wild".

Pioneer Farm 1st grade Field Trip
The first grade field trip this year was to Pioneer Farms. It is a place where you can get a look at how people lived in the 1850's. Here the class is actually learning about a piece of stone that was carved into a tool for cutting. There was a one room cabin where a family of 13 kids lived, and when Owen learned that the boy children slept on the front porch, he was dumbfounded. There was a blacksmith and a farmer, and even kids running around as they would have 150 years ago. Of course there was no T.V. or computers, and that seemed to bother Owen the most.
