Scooby Doo times 2

Owen's art work of the sun coming up.

Truett was playing in his Scooby Doo costume when his friend Artie was on the way over for a playdate, so Artie brought his Scooby costume too. The difference is that Artie has had his costume since he was 2-- making it a size 2 costume on a five year old body. So needless to say-- Artie was in a tight scooby costume that looked like knickers. It didn't matter to them, they had fun anyway.

CCE Mardi Gras Celebration

Truett fell in love with "the pretty girl in the pink dress"-- he wanted his picture made with her, and they even danced 2 songs! The next morning Truett asked to go back to Owen's school to find that pretty girl so he could dance with her again. And Owen chimed in that if he danced with her, they must be boyfriend & girlfriend. Owen also said "I think she is a third grader". (way to go Truett-- going for the older women)

To celebrate 100 days of school, the PTC put on a Mardi Gras Celebration for all the kids at Owen's elementary school. There was a dance floor filled with balloons, music, games, and food. Everyone had a lot of fun. On the way home from the school, I got pulled over by Hutto's finest police officer for not using my blinker when turning right on red. It turned out great for the boys since they got Junior Policeman badges, and a backpack filled with pencils, pens, and a coloring book. Oh yeah-- and I got lucky and got off with just a warning.

The boys liked wearing the masks, but not the bead necklaces. Truett was so rowdy, I think he went thru at least 3 masks that night-- and they all had to be red. And the DJ was playing kiddie songs like "Old MacDonald", and Truett asked the DJ to play "Boom Boom Pow" and "We will rock you", so the place livened up after that!
Here is a video of Truett rocking out to We Will Rock You. He was so delirious and tired, I thought he might fall off the stage.

Valentine's Day Stuff

BOB decided to surprise me with some fish(talapia) from the store to fix for our "valentine" dinner. He had know idea how to prepare and cook fish, so I wonder if this is really a treat for me-- since I had to do all the cooking??? Anyway, the boys were doing their best to help by peeling potatoes. We were lucky no one lost a finger, and the meal came out pretty good.

I gave my little cupids a new book and silly string for Valentine's Day (since the grandparents did a grand job giving them enough candy). Here is the silly string getting used up. A lot of it landed in the pool. Which is about 40 degrees now. I am so ready for summer...we have had many freezing nights here this winter.

Owen and Theo decided to build while the class was playing bingo during the class Valentine Party. Maybe Owen will actually become an engineer or something someday with all this building he likes to do...
A mother can dream, right?
Here Owen is with a goofy smile and his hand-made valentine mailbox. Everyone passed out their valentine's to each other, and they had ice cream floats and cookies and then got to come home on the sugar high for the parents. Wasn't that a special valentine present for mom?
Truett wanted to have the superman cape on with his favorite frog pajamas. He "flew" around the house for hours playing like that. I'm pretty sure he actually thought he was getting off the ground and flying.

Truett has been working on his ability to wink, and here is a small video of it. His mouth is full of cake because we were celebrating valentine's day!

Kayla turns 19!

Jackson and Uncle Grayson.

Kayla celebrated her 19th birthday, and we had her over for dinner.
The boys were crazy--as usual-- but Truett got so worked up and hot wrestling with Paul and Grayson that he actually puked a little. So that is why he is in his underwear for the birthday cake pictures.

Kayla and her boyfriend Paul.

Jackson was too young for the lasagna dinner-- although he did get 2 teeth last week. However, his dinner came out of a jar and here great grandpa Chris is "supervising".

Here is the little dude trying out a cracker with those new choppers.

Dinosaur Shoes!

Anyone who knows Truett knows how much he LOVES dinosaurs....
So Truett needed new shoes, and I had found some shoes online called dinosoles. But of course, they were sold out in his size. Well, as our search continued for other types of dinosaur shoes, we came across these...and he is so excited to wear them. There are dino footprints on the bottom, and a small tail out the back. I'm pretty sure I could get him to just about anything right now to keep these shoes on his feet. Perhaps I should make him try brussell sprouts?? (Or be nice to his brother)

100 Days of School!

Owen is celebrating his 100th day of school this week. His homework was to make a poster with 100 things on it. He decided to do 10 things of 10 to equal 100. Here he is with his final product. Of course, little brother Truett wants to do everything Owen does, so he made his own version of a poster. Later this week Owen is going to make a valentine mailbox at school, so I can't wait to see how that turns out. He mentioned you can't really have a girlfriend until high school. I wonder what that means exactly.... does Owen even know what high school is?
